VERY annoyed with new installation

Hi,
i recently purchased all hardware needed for running a home pc for gaming,
msn etc. from micro direct:
ABIT SG-80
250GB Samsung SATA HDD
Samsung DVD rom disk drive
RAM
Intel Celeron D 2.8Ghz
(i had the rest of the hardware already)#

the computer worked fine, until i removed a fan which was only warming up
the case (it is an old fan, which i used for as a system fan. i came to turn
it on and it works the DVD ROM abit then stops and uses the DVD ROM abit and
then it does a loop until i turn the desktop off. All the time it does that
there is no signal being sent to the monitor and theres no disk in the Drive
(it doesnt even reach the BIOS stage). i dont want to purchase another
motherboard as this one is brand new.

any help plz!?!?!

Check your hard drive cables to see if the power connector (Molex 4-Pin) is
connected and tight.
Your old case fan may have shared power through the Hard Drive connector by
way of a 2-way splitter. Make sure the HD Power connector is powered from
the 4-pin molex connector right from the power supply.
