vertical start menu

it seems like a little thing but its driving me mad!
my start menu has somehow moved to going vertically up the right hand side
of my screen. how do i get it back to horizontally along the bottom?

right click on the task bar select lock task bar so that it is un
checked and then left click and drag the task bar to the bottom of the
screen
 
Right click taskbar, untick 'lock the taskbar', then click on it somewhere, &
drag it down to the bottom of screen, then lock the taskbar again!
 
R-click in blank area and uncheck Lock the taskbar, the right mouse
button in the blank are and drag it back to the bottom.
 
heh, i just tried putting on vertical and i actually prefer it going
verticule on left hand side of screen. it actually provides more information
