vertical scroll bar

I have lost the vertical scroll bar. I have a horizontal
one that I can change margins, etc on. But all I have on
the left side is a ruler. I used to have a scroll bar.
I have other documents saved that have it.

How do I get it back?

Vertical scroll bar is checked. I have been through all
the appropriate help screens, but nothing seems to work.

Sorry, I didn't read close enough the first time. Place your cursor at the
very top of your page (cursor should change to an up and down arrow with
"Show White Space" as the screen tip). Click your mouse. You could also
put it in between two pages and click.

SORRY! Helps if I read the entire message closer!

In my copy of Word 2003, the "white space" status affects neither the
vertical ruler nor the vertical scroll bar.

I was responding to this hoping it was the problem:

"I have a horizontal one that I can change margins, etc. But all I have on
the left side is a ruler."

Obviously the scroll bar is on the right hand side, but I thought this might
be Edith's problem based on the above part of the message! The capability
to change margins goes away when white space is lost (on Word XP).
