veritas backup exec--errors 7000, 7001

This is weird. Due to the following 3 errors, the Veritas service
refused to start up (it had to be done manually):

Event ID 7000

The Microsoft Search service failed to start due to the following
error:
The executable program that this service is configured to run in does
not implement the service.

Event ID 7001

The Backup Exec Job Engine service depends on the Backup Exec Device &
Media Service service which failed to start because of the following
error:
The operation completed successfully.

Event ID 7001

The Backup Exec Server service depends on the Backup Exec Device &
Media Service service which failed to start because of the following
error:
The operation completed successfully.

Any help with this problem would be greatly appreciated.
