VDM Parallel Driver (parvdm)

Can anyone tell me what this driver accually is good
for,VDM Parallel Driver (parvdm)? My system, XP Pro has
been constantly restarting it's self lately. It started
slow and progressively got more frequent, every 2-3 mins.
I noticed the error in Event Veiwer so I disabled it.
That did not help any. I uninstalled it, now it seems to
have corrected the problem. It doesn't affect any of my
printer operations. As near as I could find out about
this driver is it is some type of DOS driver that
runs/works in a windows enviroment. Could somebody please
help with some more info about this and possibly why it
got corrupted or what did or is corrupting it. I did a
clean install of XP and everything seemed fine, but
started the problem again after a couple of weeks. Thank

If I may add, I have uninstalled the LPT Ports, Upon
restart, XP reinstalls these LPT Ports and this
driver "parvdm" and the problem returns untill I
uninstall this driver.
