VCF-cannot import

R

Rutger

I have a large VCF-file that i lik to import into outlook or outlook
express. Outlook recognizes the file, does something, but i still can't find
the adresses in my adressbook. Outlook express cannot import the fils, since
it does not support VCF, i guess (trying to import it does not state a VCF
import)

I already tried wab.exe /vcf, but nothing happens. When i doubleclick the
vcf-file every contact is opened into a new window....

Please help!

Outlook cannot import a multi-contact .vcf file. It handles only single-item .vcf files.

That's a big pity. Do you know a tool that cCAN convert a multi-contact VCF
to a WAB or any supported format?

Hi Rutger. See my post below expressing the same frustration. I did receive a nice reply from Microsoft that said they will consider adding this feature to their next version of Outlook. In the meantime, I read in some other posts related to this topic that there is a work-around. I have tried it and it works, although it's not as efficient as a direct import would be. The work-around is this: Send yourself an email with all your contacts vcf file attached (as individual files), then open it in Outlook. Then simply drag and drop the attachments to the Contacts area in the left pane (select them all and drag as a group). They will all show up as open contact windows waiting for any additional edits. Save and close each one, and you are done. See, life isn't so bad afterall...:~)
