VBA - macro, security,vba editor

Mike

I wrote some code for a macro in the [Outlook] VBA Editor.
On closing Outlook I the program showed a short (very
short) message which unfortunatly could not read.
After restarting Outlook I could not open the VBA Editor
or a macro (Tools -> Macro or Tools -> VBA Editor).
I tried to re-enable VBA via Add/Remouve Programs ->
change -> Office Shared Features -> VBA -> run from my
Computer. It didn't worked.
The Tools -> Options -> Security tab shows no 'Macro
Security' button!
Removing and re-installing Oulook did not resolved the
problem.
Has anyone experienced similar probles with Outlook? Is
it a security issue?
Thanks for any help
Mike

You're looking in the wrong place. Macro security is set with Tools | Macro
| Security.

If VBA still doesn't run, check Help | About Microsoft Outlook | Disabled
Items.

I had a similar problem - Outlook 2003 was disabling the
VBA functionality because of something in the macro it
didn't like. It would run once fine, but VBA would be
disabled the next time I ran Outlook. I turned out that
Norton Antivirus Script Blocking was causing the problem.
I disabled that NAV feature, and the macro would then run
without being disabled. I also found a way (with help
from this newsgroup) to re-write the macro so I could turn
script-blocking back on and the macro would run
successfully, without resulting in VBA being disabled.
