Various Problems with Outlook 2003

Dilip

I have just installed Office 2003 Professional and I am
encountering several problems with Outlook. The OS is
Windows XP Professional and the computer is an 1BM
Thinkpad.

I am attempting to switch my default email client to
Outlook from Outlook Express. Email accounts have been
setup in Outlook and they all test fine. Despite this,
and making Outlook my default client and removing Outlook
Express as my default, mail is received not by Outlook,
but by Outlook Express. How do I fix.

--------------

I am the only user on this notebook and I have too many
Personal Folders, Contact and Notes, Tasks, and Calendar
files. For now I only want ONE of each

There are 3 personal folders in the Mail tab. Only one
has any data.

There are 3 calendars in the Calendar tab. One just
called Calendar. The other two are called Calendar in
Personal Folders. They all seem to have the same data.

There are two Tasks. One just called Tasks and the other
called Tasks in Personal Folder.

There are two sets of Notes in the Notes tab: Notes,
Pocket Mirror, Archives and Conflicts and then Notes in
Personal Folders, Pocket Mirror in Personal Folders,
Archives in Personal Folders, and Conflicts in Personal
Folders. The Notes in Personal Folder has the latest
information.

In Contacts, there is a Contacts and then a Contacts in
Personal Folders. Both seem to contain identical
information.

Exploring my drive I find Outlook .pst data all over the
place:
My Briefcase contains Calendar, Contacts and Notes. These
are old dates.
Documents and Settings > User (DKM) > Application Data >
Microsoft > Outlook contains Archive, Backup and
Personal. This Personal .pst file has a date and time of
12/6/03 at 10:56 pm.
Documents and Settings > Default > Application Data >
Microsoft > Outlook contains Calendar, Notes and
Contacts. These have old dates.
The Windows folder has a Default.pst which has the most
recent date and time of 12/6/03 at 11:49 pm.

Where should my single set of data files for Outlook
reside. And how should I put it there?

----------------------------

I could not access Microsoft Online Support because it
would not acknowledge my Outlook Product ID.

-----------------------------

I have to keep resetting my Passport password because
everytime I log on I am warned that I have made too many
previous failed attempts to enter, even though I have
not. This is a consistent problem. I don't visit Passport
for months, and then I'm told I've had too many entry
attempts.
Please help.

Please post only one question per post - having too many, like this one,
practically ensures that all of your questions will not be answered. People
tend to skip questions that have an answer posted so if someone answers one
but not the rest, the rest will remain unanswered.
