Vanishing MAC Address

I have an issue with my PC running XP Pro with SP2 and my wireless card.
Somewhere along the line I have lost the MAC address on my wireless card,
but only on my PC. The hardware is a Sony VIAO and a Sony PCWA-C150S. This
problem began a few weeks ago and the unit funtions fine in other PC's. I
have tried to reinstall the drivers many times with no luck. I believe the
issue has to do with Windows and some Networking something.
If anyone can shed some light on this issue for me and a solution to it I
would greatly apprectiate it.

What do you mean "lost the MAC address"? Do you mean the physical card
is not recognized by Windows or do you mean that it is seen but you
can't get an IP address?

I mean when I look for the MAC address in the Wireless card properties that
it claims the MAC address is 00-00-00-00-00-00.

Try updating the drivers for that card from the mftr.'s website.

I have a similar problem. I found if I go to a internet site and use java
"applet expresso" my pc will loose ip address. I will then have to reboot my
cable modem to get back on line. Is this a compatiblity issue with sp2 and
explorer and ons?

I don't think it's an SP2 issue, but then I haven't tested wireless with
every piece of hardware in the world ;-).

I'm not quite sure what "applet expresso" is, but I haven't seen any
problem with running Java applets on any client boxen or my laptop.
This doesn't invalidate your experience, of course. I think I'd try
updating the drivers for your hardware or test with a different
wireless pc card.
