vanishing hard drive

My computer has 2 hard drivesC/D. I re-installed Windows XP on the "C" drive
leaving (as I thought) the "D" intact. The installation was successfull.
However the "D" drive is not recognised. How do I retrieve it?

OK Ted you have stated the obvious. However it is not the content I want It
is access to the the actual drive!!! As a piece of equipment it exists but it
is not shown on the computer ANYWHERE.

Then you need to reinstall it again, being sure that the drive is
installed in the correct position on the correct cable, jumpered
correctly (usually cable select), and that the data and power cables are
firmly attached. And for the best possible advice go to the website of
the manufacturer of the drive.

YES! YES! YES! The problem was with the driver. Once this was rectified. HEY
PRESTO! The "D" Drive appeared with all my files.
Thanks TED.
