How to get rid of the "your system may be at risk" icon in the tray?

Which program does that Icon belong to? Norton, McAfee, or other
program?

Go to control panel and click on the security center icon. When that opens
on the left side click on Change the way security center alerts me. Then
uncheck the box next to firewall.
It's alerting you because the windows firewall is turned off so hopefully
you have some other firewall in place.

It's the STAR in the system tray , a Microsoft validation message.

If it's a light colored star then its part of windows genuine advantage
tool! Normally this only shows up if you've downloaded this tool from
windows update and you are using a pirate copy of windows. if you
believe your copy to be genuine, click on the bubble and follow the
instructions.

Has your operating system been validated to receive updates? Is that an
indicator that you received a download from Windows Update, waitng to
install? Did you click on it?
