Validate a Form

Paul R

Is there a way to validate a form before a user submits it.

I have a form that requires a user to enter thier name into a field.

I would like to ensure that the user has enter thier name before they can
submit the form.

Many Thanks
Paul

Several questions:

1. does your host support Front Page Extensions? This is
required for Front Page Forms to work.
2. Did you publish using FTP? This will "break" the
extensions each time you publish.
3. has email transport been enabled by your host for your
account? This is necessary in order for the submitted
form data to get back to you.
4. What did your host find when you asked them to view
the server's system log as the error message suggests?

Using the FP form you can validate that a user has not left a blank field -
essentially you can make any field (whether a "text" or "radio button" field) as
'required' and it won't submit until all required fields have some sort of answer
or data in them.

I think you right click the field then select properties (or similar for that
field - you're given a rangeof options depending on the type of form-field it
is).
