"UU" and "PP" that are font size 1 appear in doc, how to get rid?

I keep getting these "UU"s and "PP"s that are at a font size of 1 in my
documents. How do I keep them from being added. Is it a setting?

Since no one else wants to venture an answer, I'll give you my thoughts...

1. This is definitely NOT part of the Word application.

2. This sounds like the work of an Addin. You can test this premise:

Start Word in SAFE MODE (if this is 2002 or 2003, hold down CTRL while
starting it up)
