ben

I have a windows xp sp2 machine.Im trying to do a firmware update on my
cd-room drive ,which is generic(no brand name on it).Im looking for
some utility,to find the model of my cd-room,the company who made it
and possibly the driver version used.I ve tried Sysoft sandra and
Everest(Aida),but nothing shows up about cd-room,just microsoft
drivers.
Does exist any small simple utility to do this?I ve seen a bunch of
utilities about ram, motherbord, cpu, but not for cd-rom-s Any info? Thanks

Could you post the subject line please - then I can just collect headers

(I'm still on dial-up and need to avoid shocking 'phone bills!)

Thanks

CD Firmware Detect
Thanks!
I find now that alt.binaries.freeware is very quiet at the moment and it
would have been no problem identifying your post, so I apologise for not
having had a little look first.

Karen profiler didn't find any info abot the cd-rom's vendor and driver
name version etc.I ve looked up the device manager. All I had on there
was some win xp drivers.
Im wondering, is there any CD Firmware detect utility link?
