UTF-8 encoded subject

wei

When I send an email from Yahoo mail with some Chinese characters in
the subject line, these Chinese characters can not be displayed on my
outlook 2007. The exchange server we had is exchange 2003.

Look at it more closely, I found the following headers in the email:
X-ASG-Orig-Subj: =?utf-8?B?5ZOI6L6+?=
Subject: ??

looks like Yahoo is encoding the subject as utf-8 B, and exchange
server is not decoding it correctly. I am thinking this might be
related to some settings on exchange server. Can someone please help
me figure it out? Thanks.

How do you send these messages "from" Yahoo - with an email client, or
from the web-based forms? If so, most likely Yahoo is not encoding them
correctly. Chinese text should not be normally encoded as UTF-8, but the
appropriate Chinese encoding. Does Yahoo let you specify the encoding of
an outgoing message?

I don't think it's an Exchange Server problem.
