Using wrong program to open documents

When I try to open a Word document, I get a message
saying that Paintshop can't open it. Why would Paintshop
even be trying to open it. How can I get it back to
opening automatically with Word?

In Windows Explorer go to Tools, Folder Options, File Types and locate the
entry for DOC files. Click the Change button and locate the WINWORD.EXE
file on your hard drive, if Microsoft Office Word isn't listed in the
Recommended list. If MS Office Word is listed, choose that.
