Using Word 2003 as an editor slows down Outlook 2003

I have 2 users using Outlook 2003 with Word 2003 set to edit their email
messages. Their Outlook slows down to a crawl and will evetually hang. If I
disable Word 2003 as an editor everything speeds back up. They are vehement
about using Word to edit their emails, and I never hear the end of it. Is
there any fix for this? I have looked for weeks with no luck. Thanks in
advance.

I'd suggest having them try a new mail profile.
