Using word 2002 with Outlook 2003

Our corporate HQ upgraded to Exchange 2003 a while back and we got
licenses for Outlook 2003 as a part of the deal.

Several people in my office have been successfully using word 2000 and
Word 2002 as their email editor with Outlook 2003.

Recently I've run "office update" and now this will no longer work.

I've read your statements in a group that they have to be the same
version, - that was stated December a year ago. But obviously that was
not true. It has been working fine enough. Using incompatibility to
force expensive updates as a coporate strategy to soak users every 2
years with a new expense stinks . . (actually that is a comment that is
another tangent.)

I assume I either need to pay you guys a bunch more money to allow my
users work as they did, or what? Any work-arounds?

The feature they miss is the auto correct, so they can type in an "i"
and have it automatically capitalize to "I". and start a sentance with
a lower case letter . . . And have it capitalize automatically.

I don't believe this for a second.

Prove it.
