I am running Windows XP and using office 2000. Do I need to update Outlook
2000 when I already receive updates for Windows XP? They are not the same,
but I wonder if I download the updates for outlook 2000 will they be
duplicated?

No, Windows Update updates Windows only.
Click on the Office link on Windows Update to update your Office apps.

Thanks. Can I update office 2000 to 2005 with one update or do I have to do
each year's full of updates?

Go to Office Update & try to automatically scan/download updates. Service
releases are cumulative but there will be other patches.

There are no downloadable Office updates that will upgrade Office 2000 to
the current version Office 2003. You have to purchase an update license and
the Office 2003 media. All the big-box electronic places carry it.
