Check your settings against the ones showed here:

Go to Tools, Accounts, select that mail account, Properties, Servers.
Uncheck the box for "Log on using Secure Password Authentication."
Also, SSL is never used with port 587.

Please don't post the same issue in multiple threads.
It just dilutes the available responder manpower.

Thanks, but now this is the message I am getting..

The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be
correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this
problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the
"I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help determining
the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service provider.

The rejected e-mail address was '(e-mail address removed)'. Subject 'sucks',
Account: 'plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com', Server: 'plus.smtp.mail.yahoo.com',
Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '530 authentication required - for help go
to http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/mail/pop/pop-11.html', Port: 465,
Secure(SSL): Yes, Server Error: 530, Error Number: 0x800CCC78

First, make sure you actually have the Yahoo 'Mail Plus' service
because you are using its special servers:
Yahoo's premium "Mail Plus" service:
http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/original/mailplus/overview/index.html
which uses these special settings:
http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/original/mailplus/pop/pop-14.html

Also, make sure you have send authentication enabled.
Go to Tools, Accounts, select that account, Properties, Servers.
The box for "My server requires authentication must be checked.

Yahoo Mail problem with Microsoft Mail

I'm also having problems setting up my Yahoo Mail via Microsoft Mail. I've gone through the Yahoo Mail help file and followed the directions and troubleshooting information but still run into the same issue. After I set up my account and do a send/receive I receive a Windows Security login window:

If I enter my Yahoo mail user name and password and click OK then the window just reappears.

I've verified the settings on the Servers and Advanced tabs within the Microsoft Mail account set-up are correct:

Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Cheers.
