I was wondering how to go about having one card playing audio from
windows media player in one room and then windows media center audio
over the other?

The only way I know of doing this is to use a network and streaming the
files wirelessly. I could be wrong but getting two sound cards to work
together may be a pain.

It's a bit more painful in Vista then in previous versions of Windows,
but in general, it's not bad, the tough part is using them, applications
need to be designed to give you that level of control.

Many media players are, very little else will give you any control at
all.
