Using the files and settings transfer wizard

I have a similar problem to Rufus. I wish to transfermy files and settings from my old computer to the new one and am horrified that it will take six days to achieve the objective using the XP wizard. I own an FHD external hard drive, could I do this quicker with that piece of kit?
 
6 days to transfer ? Usually the data is around 325-400MB,youre only transferin
user data.Try transfering data to a new folder that you create,say on desktop,the
when its thru collecting,transfer to a cd or dvd,then run wizard on new compute
and use the disk.The nice thing about a disk is if xp crashes,youre settings ar
saved,then reinstalling xp is really the only task.You can/could also edit what t
save,giveing you the option to save to several disks.
