Using "Save As" in word 2007

How do I get the "save as" mode to work correctly? Each time I try to save
anywhere except word, the item says "saved". However, when I try to retrieve
the saved data, I get the "This file could not be found" messge. What do I
do?

What do you mean by "anywhere except word"?

Click the Office button (upper left corner). Click Save As. This should open
the Save As dialog. User the controls to navigate to the desired location,
then click Save.

Note that the Save As item has two components. The arrow component displays
several commonly-used options. If you click on the Save As button itself,
though, it will immediately bring up the Save As window.

First see how to re-register Word when problems crop up opening files
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/ReRegisterWord.htm and if that doesn't
fix it select a document in Windows Explorer, right click and choose Open
with...

From the ensuing dialog select Word (winword.exe) and check the box to
always open with this application.
