Hello...
I've managed to sort it myself... well, so that I can use the printer... I
guess that the preview problem is still there.

What I did was go into the preview screen... and deleted it in there...

Why can't MS send fixes for things like that through as Upgrades?

Anne.

This HP software is attempting to send a dialog or something to session 0 on
the machine.

If this was an upgrade from XP, verify that HP has Vista compatible
software, then delete the old software and install the latest software for
whatever device this is.

If HP does not have a Vista driver check if another driver that is
compatible with Vista will work for this device, whatever model you have.

HP gets to make that call. It's their software to update. Typically
Microsoft will use windows update for Microsoft software and updated Vendor
drivers. If this software is part of an HP driver package it might have an
update but it would not be anything critical so you'd have to search for it.

My HP printer has been working for 12 months with Vista... this problem arose
when I selected to Preview a 4up page..................

I shall live without that............. it's printing I need.
