Using personal folders on two computers

I copy (using briefcase) my PST outlook file from my
desktop to my laptop. On my desktop my personal folder
is my Outlook today folder and is the only folder open.
However, when on the laptop the PST file is not my
outlook today folder but a separate "personal folder".
The general outlook find will NOT find items in this 2nd
personal folder, I need to use the detailed find
command. It's a real pain to have two personal folders
open and not having all my data (i.e. contacts, calendar,
notes, etc) not in outlook today. How does this happen,
why doesn't my laptop outlook have only one personal
folder like my desktop. Both computers are running
Office 2000.

Help!
