using outlook and outlook express on the same computer

I just installed Outlook 2003 on my home computer which runs Windows XP. My
wife and I each have a seperate user account on the same computer. I would
like to set Outlook as my default email program and my wife would like to
continue using OE as her default program. Each time I change a default
setting on on account, it seems to change the same setting on all accounts on
the computer. Is there a way to do this? Thanks!

Unfortunately, while the Windows Users is a good thing on XP, the ONE thing
they have omitted is the ability to set a different default email
client/browser for each user. Windows natively does NOT do that!

There is, however, a little script available that will do exactly what the
OP is asking:

Look here for default email:
http://windowsxp.mvps.org/defaultmail.htm

and here for default browser:

yes you can do this, also for web browser if you want to use (say) Firefox
and your wife wants to continue to use IE:

Look here to set default email per user:
http://windowsxp.mvps.org/defaultmail.htm

and here for default browser per user:
http://windowsxp.mvps.org/defaultbrowser.htm
