Using Outlook 2003 to access Hotmail premium account

I changed my hotmail password from the MSN passport facility. Then changed
my hotmail password within Outlook. Now I can only read my mail using IE via
the web and MSN.com; Outlook is unable to connect. Outlook no longer can
access my premium hotmail account.

does it give any error messages?

try either removing the account from outlook and recreating it or create a
second account for it.

Diane: I discovered the problem.....MSN messenger was unable to accept the
rather long password (perhaps other "field restrictions as well...). Somehow
the interaction between MSN messenger, passport.net, outlook, and hotmail is
not fully described in the error messages. Outlook error message describes
an incorrect password or account name - when in fact the problem lies in MSN
messanger's inability to take the entire password.
