Software:-----
Exchange Server 2003, Outlook 2003
Situation:-----
User Jane has two mailboxes, a default (Jane) and
secondary (Sales), configured in her Outlook profile.
The secondary mailbox (Sales) was added through:
Tools|E-mail Accounts|View or Change Existing E-Mail
Accounts|Microsoft Exchange Server|Change|More
Settings|Advanced|Mailboxes|Add
Question:-----
If Jane is focused on the Inbox folder of the Sales
mailbox and clicks New Mail Message, the From field of the
new message will automatically populate with Jane instead
of Sales. She must manually change the From field to
Sales.
When sending from Sales, the copy of the sent email is
deposited in the Sent Items folder of Jane instead of the
Sent Items folder of Sales.
This behavior has, to my knowledge, never been alterable
before Exchange 2003. Is it alterable now?
Additional:-----
There are two existing solutions I am aware of:
1) Configure a separate profile for each account. This is
very unfeasible for the user as any real administrator
knows a user is not going to constantly close and reopen
Outlook all day.
2) Use IvaSoft's RightFrom and UniSent Outlook add-ins.
Problem? They require unjustifiable money (they're sold
per-user instead of a one-off fee).
Conclusion:-----
Neither solution is acceptable if there exists a way to
alter the Outlook/Exchange behavior without resorting to
the above.
