Using MP3s in PowerPoint 2003

I use to be able to use MP3s in PowerPoint, but now they won't play. I can
insert them, I have run the detect and repair problem, I have reinstalled the
program, but still no solution. The files are in the same folder, I have done
this before, but now they won't play.
Any suggestions?
