Using Microsoft Photo Editor in OL2007 Beta

I am a beta tester for Outlook 2007 and I like to save some of the
pictures I get from friends in JPG format. When I was using Outlook
2002, I used Microsoft Photo Editor. When I try this in Outlook 2007
beta, I get an error saying that MS Photo Editor cannot open the file.

If I cannot open and save my pictures using MS Photo Editor, what
program can I use?

Save them to your computer first....then open them?
That is what I am trying to do...I normally use MS Photo editor to
open the pictures and now I can't. I am using Windows XP BTW

Hmm, it is a good point.

But the OP's workflow needs to be considered.

In my opinion this highlights a major operational difference between an
Image Viewer and an Image Editor.

It is probably unwise (as has been suggested) the Image Edit from a
temporary folder. however, a neat and lite Image viewer can help.

My all time fave Image viewer: Irfan View as it is so slick and has a
wicked workflow based on (usually) the slickest and quickest of keyboard
shortcuts. Office 97 used to have such a quick n slick
viewer/minimalist image editor that was neat.

Once it was gone I replaced it's functionality with Irfan View

Sorry.

"When I try this in Outlook 2007...", said LV. So I thought you were
opening from Outlook.

So you save the image and then attempt to view it with MS Photo Editor and
it won't open? Is that the situation?

{FWI: a JPG is a lossy format, so you want to be carefully about opening and
resaving too many times.}
