Using install.log to re-install

I just had to do a clean install of Windows XP Pro. There is one application
for which I have lost the disk. I copied the back-up files over but there is
still the matter of the registry entries. I have the install.log file but I'm
not sure how to edit the registry to comply with the entries. Is there:

1. A way I can edit the piece of the install.log to get the lines I want
then run something that would do the mods?

2. Enter the edits by hand? If so, what explains the entries I need to do
for the Key, Val, Root, etc.

Thank you.

Hi,

You would only get part way with that. Supporting Files would still need to
be placed in the common and system folders, library files would still need
to be registered, etc. You will need to locate the installation media if you
have any hope for the program to install and run properly.

Thanks Buck. That's what I figured. I'll just have to find an equivalent or
new program to install.
