Using GPO for Desktop Redirection web shortcuts missing web document tab

Strange problem. If a user logs in, gets desktop from read-only share, all
icons are there but the desktop shortcuts pointing to a web site won't work.
If the user browses to the 'desktop' share, the icon works fine.
It looks like a rights issue, but I thought the desktop share can be
read-only.
If you look at the shortcut, the 'web documents' tab is missing. However,
if you give the user full rights to the desktop folder - all works fine.
All of the other normal application shortcuts are unaffected.
Any ideas?

Fixed by assigning write rights to each web shortcut but not to entire
desktop.
