Using gmail to send a BCC to a list stored in a file.

Gmail says it requires the imported file to be in .csv format. I have
tried several variations, none of which has worked.
Since I am sending to a list containing only a number (about 50) of
addresses, I thought I could make a text file of the form

(e-mail address removed)
(e-mail address removed)

which doesn't have any commas in it, but the entries are separated by
line breaks. This was not acceptable to gmail.

So I tried

(e-mail address removed),[email protected]

but got the same result.
Does the file extent matter? I tried file.txt as well as file.csv. No
success either way.

I haven't yet faced the problem of sending my message as BCC.

I'm running Windows XP, Home.

I have, red-facedly, to explain why there are 4 submissions above. When
I tried to post the first time, I got a message that there were server
problems, try again in 30 seconds. So I tried several times, and
finally got accepted. Little did I suspect that all of the tries were
going to be accepted.

Not entirely my fault.

Even so, none of the posts has anything to do with Outlook.
