using ftp for the location of the linked tables

When linking tables there is an FTP location option. I can set this up and
can see the db on the ftp server but when i try to open it i get

Not a valid filename

error.

does anyone know how this is done ?

Access doesn't recognize either the FTP nor HTTP protocols for linking
tables.

I suspect what you're seeing is coming from the standard Windows dialog box.
