Using both IE6 & IE7 simultaneously

T

Tachyon

After the install on one machine I found the folder "IE7" in the Windows
directory and it was the old IE6 there (though the "About" button calls it
IE7) !!!

I created a shortcut to the iexplore.exe in that folder to the Start Menu
and now can use both IE7 and IE6 at the same time! There is no conflict
whatsoever that I have come up with - so far!

Cool!

Hi Tachyon,

Hey yeah. Cool. So far. Saved me heaps of time trying the other tweaks that
are available.

Regards.

Found one.

links and favorites will use ie7 to launch the shortcut. Workaround - create
program shortcuts to %system%\IE7\iexplore.exe http://www.website.com

2. javascript protocol won't work

3. useragent strings unchanged.

4. Live toolbar has no tab options (may have been detected when istalled
with IE7 present)

Darn, easier to have partitions.

Regards.
