Using both audio and narration

I have made a movie as part of a project, and sorted out all the music and
out it in the timeline, and now i have recorded a narration to go over the
top as well- however it will not let me use both at the same time. I want the
narration to be over the top of the music, however if i drag them over one
another they simply swap places and it wont let me use both of them- is there
any way to use both at the same time? the narration and the music both last
over 5mins each and i need them overlapped- can anyone help?

you need to do it in two passes... save the movie with the music in it
first... then import it back in as a new source file.... add the narration.

After you do what PapaJohn says, you can right click on the original music
and choose 'volume' and move the slider to the left to reduce it. It can be
fairly low behind the narration and be a cool thing....just so it isn't so
loud that it competes with the spoken word. Instrumentals work better than
vocals, but very low vocals add to the ambiance of it too. Have fun.
