Using a Windows XP Pr CD to install over Windows XP Home

I just bout a new sony laptop which had windows xp home loaded on it.

I want to install windows xp pro over it. Is this possible?
 
yep..i recommend backing up all your data then formatting
the drive then installing xp pro...
