Using a PC Card Sierra 555 on a PC

Hi, how is everybody doing?

I shall be glad if somebody can inform me whether a wireless Internet PCMCIA
device intended for a laptop will function the same if installed with a PC
Card-PCI adaptor in a desktop PC.

I am shortly getting a Sierra 555 card from a service provider for my laptop
and wanted to know if this work on my PC also when necessary. I am buying
the required PC Card-PCI adaptor shortly.

Thanks a lot in anticipation.

Everybody be blessed.

Shiva,

The wireless adapter for the laptop will not work with the desktop computer
as the connectors of the PCMCIA card differ from the PCI card on the comp.
More over the V and I ratings will differ from that of a laptop and Desktop

Hi, thanks for the input.

Yes, I know about that incompatibility. However there is a PC Card - PCI
adapter available that enables one to use a PCMCIA device on a desktop. The
PC card device simply slips ino a slot on the adapter!

Thanks again.
