When XP shuts down , the desktop briefly is displayed as a greyscale image.
Is it possible to RUN Windows XP in greyscale on a colour TFT monitor?
If so, how ?

No switches that I know of within XP to do this.

Could switch from XP theme to Classic and then use Display Properties>
Appearance to create a greyscale color scheme.

Or if you're married to the XP interface, try Window Blinds from
stardock.com. They have an extensive collection of themes. I haven't looked
but imagine there would be one more "calm" then XP's bright blue.
