I work in a school. We have just replaced our Windows NT servers with 2
Windows 2003 servers.
I have recreated all of the users and migrated their home directorys across.
The issue I am having is this, When a user logs on for the first time the
contents of the their My documents folder (in my case, a folder in their home
drive called work) is deleted and replaced with 2 new folders : My pictures
and My music.
I then restore their documents back into their folder and it seems to be
fine after that. Although it s reasonably easy to resolve like this, it is
going to be chaos when the school returns from holiday and 1200 users are
coming to me saying they have lost all of their work after their initial log
in.
The only difference I can see with their home drive is this, before they log
in for the first time there is no ntuser.dat present, afterwards there is.
Please can someone give me any ideas on how to resolve this.
Many Thanks.
