users not assigned to groups

I just checked my groups and permissions... and my groups have been given
their correct permissions and I have checked the user and group accounts and
the correct users are in their correct groups, however when I'm in the user
and group permissions and change from Goup view to User view... none of my
user names have any permissions what so ever. I made this all through the
security wizard. Set up the groups and made user log ons. I assumed
assigning permissions to the group would give those people assigned to that
group the permissions since it's been said everywhere not to assign
individual permissions. Did I miss something?
I have Admins, Full Data Users, Read Only Users and Users as the groups.

Nope, you didn't miss anything. Users will have the permissions assigned to the Groups they belong to. These are called implicit permissions. As such, they will not show in the permissions dialog when you look at the users. Only explicit permissions show in the dialog.
