Users loosing Proxy Server settings when they uncheck User Proxy

We have users who travel a bit and when they uncheck the option to use a
proxy server for web access in hotels etc the proxy server address does not
remain greyed out for them to use when they recheck the box. In the past the
proxy server address was remembered but this does not seem to be the case any
longer.

Can anyone help?

This may be a function of a checkbox - try toggling the box "Use the same
proxy server for all protocols" in IE at Tools...Internet
Options...Connections tab, LAN settings, Advanced.
