Hi,

Got a very weird problem regarding a HP3550 and users profiles in a XPPro.

A text document is sent to the printer. If the user sending this doc is an
Administrator, the printer prints the file in black. If any other kind of
user send the same doc to the printer, it prints using the color cartridge.

I rinstalled the drivers & everything else from install CD, which removed
previous installation of the printer. Presumably, it reinstalled the printer
from scratch. But it did not change anything: adm prints in black, others
print in color.

So I got my advanced user and promoted him to Administrator status:
incredibly, this user could now print black text in black color.

Contacted HP support, but all their contribution was to reinstall drivers.
Thank you very much, HP. Next time will buy an Okidata, or an Epson.

What could be happening???

Thanks,

Luiz Horacio

And why do you believe that Okidata/Epson support would tell you any
differently.

Plato,

You just killed my hopes. I'll try Lexmark.

Anyway, this was intended to be a joke, not marketing.

In any case, your support phone call will either go the same group of
people in either Florida USA or India. When they switch jobs, their new
job is just across the street :)
