user update options

are there "applications" out-there that would allow a
user with no FP or HTML knowledge to update a web site
created with FP...

I know there are many hosting companies that provide
similar things - but I would like to implement this for my
clients of their existing web site.......

Depends on what you want to allow them to change.
To allow them to make *some* changes you may want to check out a content
management system (CMS), like ContentSeed. http://www.contentseed.com
