User State Migration

Hello,

We are replacing a terminal server for one of our
customers, it is running Windows 2000 Server SP4. We plan
to de-comission the existing hardware and bring the same
Windows server license up on a new server. I am at a loss
as to how to move the terminal serveices users "user
state". We have looked into several tools from Microsoft
(User State Migration Tool, Active Directory Migration
Tool and MoveUser.exe)but none of these tools will move
the user state from one server to another server in the
same domain. Have I over looked a tool from MS that might
work? Can anyone recommend a third party utility that
would get the job done?

TIA

You can specify a Terminal Services Profile location on a network share (Roaming Profile) which when users logon & logoff will copy their profile to the network. When they logon to the new server it'll automatically pull down the users roaming profile

In each user's account for the Terminal Services Profile specify a path like \\Server\Share\%UserName%, make sure the directory is created and that the user has full control & ownership of the directory

Simple and Free
