User SID's won't resolve, group SID's seem to resolve

I went to adjust some permissions on a couple folders on a Win 2K file server
I have. This one folder that only had groups (local and AD) in the Security
tab resolved them all quickly as expected. The other folder, which has
individual accounts (AD) and groups (local), only the local groups resolve,
the individual AD accounts are still sitting there as their SID's. Any
ideas?? I don't see anything odd in the event log.
