I'm trying to install software so my son (as a limited user in WinXP
Home) can play on his account. It doesn't work under limited account
privileges. I went to the software website where they have FAQ's
related to my problem. They suggest I log on as administrator and give
the specific user account Full Control of the directory containing the
program he wishes to run. They also have a link to a microsoft article
to explain how to do this:

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/security/learnmore/accesscontrol.mspx

The link explains how to do this using WinXP Professional edition. I
can't seem to find out how to grant permissions using WinXP Home
edition. Anyone have suggestions? Thanks in advance

Since you're running Windows XP Home Edition, you
must start the computer in Safe Mode, and then log on with an
account that has Administrative rights to have access to the
Security tab. To start in Safe Mode, reboot your computer and
start tapping the F8 key as soon as you see anything displayed
on the screen. Keep hitting F8 until the Advanced Startup
Options menu appears. Use the up and down arrow keys on your
keyboard to select Safe Mode. Hit Enter.

Good luck
