User profiles not getting loaded

I have installed Window XP Professional 3 days back. I had
created 5 users. All of a sudden, while logging into any
profile, the profile does not get loaded i.e. only the
wallpaper appears. There is no start button, noicon,
nothing available. Hence can't use XP at all. Request all
to help me. Do i have to reinstall XP ? The safe mode
option does not work. It hangs the machine.

Hi Vinay,

Press CTRL+ALT+DEL and create a new process "Explorer.exe"
The start menu and icons should be back.
Now, download the fix from Kelly:
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/regs_edits/nodesktop.reg

If this does not work, run a system restore.
