changeing profile path

hey

someone misspelt my profile path when setting my laptop up(c:\documents and
settings\joe bloggs) so i booted my laptop into safe mode, logged in as admin
and changed the spelling to: c:\documents and settings\fred bloggs. when i
booted and logged in, my profile was all new and i had two users direcorys
under docs and settings: joe bloggs and fred bloggs. how can i get the
username i log in with to use the old directory path which has all my old
settings and files?? I'm running xp home edition.

I appreciate all help on this

Hi John,

Boot into safe mode and log in as administrator then simply copy the
CONTENTS of your old profile into your newly created profile.

If you have trouble with that goto control panel > System > Advanced >
Userprofiles and copy the profile from one to the other NB you cannot be
logged in as either of the users you are trying to copy. So log in as admin
or create another account.

cheers, thats exactly what i did. the profile works but all my media and
sound files keep jittering?
