User Profile..safe to delete??

R

Ratan Maitra

Hello..

I find that there are two User Profiles, one of the Administrator and the
other Ratan, of 2.46 and 2.31 GB space respectively !!!

As my profile may contain my settings, is it possible and safe to delete the
Administraror's ?
Can the profile sizes be reduced by deleting some unnecessary items ?

Thanks

Hi,

You cannot, and should not attempt to, delete the default administrator
account. It is a fail safe if your user profile becomes corrupt. Can you
delete unnecessary data files in it? Sure.

You should retain the Administrator logon against emergencies. But it
should not be anything like that big. Mine is 7.5 *M*B. It sounds as
if someone has used it for regular user work and put vast amounts into
its My Documents, and possibly some of the application folders in its
Application Data or Local Settings folders. (including probably Temp
and Temp Internet Files). Files there could be cleared - I would retain
folders
